GapCafé Supported Event
NYC Leadership Movement Day 2015 Highlights
On October 29th, members of the GapCafé team trooped to the New York Hilton Midtown to gather with hundreds of other Christian leaders for The New York City Leadership Center’s annual Movement Day event. Kicking the day off at 7:00 am, the team got to an early start in the Exhibit Hall along with dozens of other organizations. We were situated near K-Love (Christian Contemporary Music station) and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The team had an awesome time fellowshipping, praying for people who stopped by, and surveying people about their “B-Number.” If you don’t know what the “B-number” is, you need to check out the Gap Analysis to learn more!
The GapCafé had the honor of being joined by a number of dear friends throughout the day that helped us share GapCafé with other conference participants. These friends included Kimberly Reeve and Michael Walker of the Cathedral Consulting Group; Dr. Jay Park; John Doderer; Dr. Benn, and Jim Henry.
We greeted dozens of people, and prayed for nearly 40 people. We also had the honor of being visited by several prominent people, including Pastor Jamaal Bernard (Christian Cultural Center), Bob Doll (Nuveen Asset Management) and his wife Leslie, and radio personality Diana King (WMCA AM 570). We also participated in numerous plenary sessions on a wide variety of topics, including: Bridging the Spiritual Divide in our Cities; Bridging the Racial Divide in Our Cities; Leaving a Legacy; and Professionals and Marketplace (near and dear to our hearts at GapCafé). Speakers and panelists included, but were not limited to: Dr. Tim Keller; Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil; Pastors A.R. and Jamaal Bernard; Reverends Michael and Adam Durso; and Bob Doll.
All in all, it was an awesome day for GapCafé!
